Osho is a modern-day mystic whose wisdom, clarity and humor have touched the lives of millions round the world. His insights are creating the emergence of what he calls the ‘New Man & Woman’ or Zorba the Buddha – combining the earthiness and celebration of a Zorba with the silence and meditation of a buddha: in short, the material skills of the West with the meditation of the East. Zorba the Buddha is a new, evolved human being who is both fully conscious and life affirmative.
Meditation is being eternally present but we keep being identified with the mind and body. It is ironical that, in reality, we are not the one who can be seen, touched, heard or smelled but an awareness that is invisible and intangible. Meditation is the fast track to this our authentic reality.
Because most modern human beings are just not able to sit silently in the present moment, the enlightened mystic Osho has devised numerous meditations to help quieten the mind and release suppressed emotions held in the body.
Active meditations begin with physically energetic stages that may involve shaking, breathing or any other cathartic activity and they end with silence. All stages except the silent ones are usually accompanied by music.
Active meditations facilitate passive meditations. These techniques lead the meditator to experience themselves as that invisible, intangible Watcher on the Hill.
Every evening at 7:00 pm local time, Osho’s disciples dance to celebratory music and sit in silence. It is followed by video or an audio discourse of Osho.
The ‘Taste of Silence’ offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility and bliss of Osho Energyfield at Osho Dham. This three-day program is carefully crafted to facilitate a deep connection with your inner self through a blend of silent and active meditations.
Vipassana meditation is a form of mindfulness meditation that comes from the original teachings of the Buddha. It is a way of observing oneself without judgment, and it is said to be helpful in achieving enlightenment. Usually, it’s done over the course of 10 days. Here’s what you need to know.
As Osho explains, “Education means drawing your inner being into expression in your living, your day-to-day life. Your honesty, your love, your compassion, should come from your inner being, not from teachings and scriptures.”
Zazen is a traditional Zen meditation which involves long hours of silent sitting and slow walking. As the mind slows down and becomes quieter and quieter.
Osho first introduced the No-Mind meditation as part of his evening discourses on Zen. Later on, it became a group process, lasting for seven days.
Born Again is a process that takes place for two hours a day, over seven days. For the first hour, participants take the space and freedom to behave as children.
